Singer Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s only child, 22-year-old, Bobbi Kristina Brown, who was found unresponsive in a bathtub on January 31 this year, passed away on Sunday.

Singer Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s only child, 22-year-old, Bobbi Kristina Brown, who was found unresponsive in a bathtub on January 31 this year, passed away on Sunday. In June, Bobbi was pulled off life support and shifted to a hospice, a home providing care for the sick or terminally ill, as her condition continued to deteriorate inspite being provided with the best of medical help.
Bobbi’s death has once again brought to the forefront the lives of celebrity children, rife with various kinds of substance abuses and run-ins with the law. We take a look at other such celebrity kids who too have had their brush with drug and alcohol usage and abuse.
Bobbi Kristina Brown
Sole heir to her mother’s massive $20 million property, aspiring singer Bobbi’s drug usage made headlines when videos and pictures of her doing what looked like cocaine emerged in 2012. When she was found unresponsive in a tub, early this year, in an eerily similar situation in how her mother was found three years ago, the involvement of drugs was suspected. Bobbi’s decision to date and finally tie the knot with Nick Gordon, someone who grew up with as a sibling, was also a decision that was opposed by one and all in her extended family.

Al Gore III
American politician and philanthropist, Al Gore’s son, Al Gore III, was arrested in 2003 for consumption and possession of marijuana. Earlier in 2002, he was also arrested for drunk driving. In 2007, he was stopped by officers who got suspicious of him driving at a speed over 100mph. In his possession, they found marijuana and prescription drugs including Xanax, Valium, Vicodin and Adderall — all without prescription.
Tallulah
Bruce Willis and Demi Moore youngest child, 21-year-old Tallulah, checked into rehab in July last year for her cocaine and alcohol abuse related issues. Post getting sober, in an interview, Tallulah admitted that she began drug abuse to battle her overwhelming depression during college years. Sources close to the family have often spoken of how her parents’ divorce, when she was very young, took an immense toll on Tallulah and pushed her towards drugs. She was also arrested for underage drinking at 17.

Weston Coppola Cage
Weston Coppola Cage, Nicholas Cage’s 24-year-old son, at his worst was drinking 30 beers, wine and hard liquor a day. Post getting sober for good, Weston spoke of how that dealing with his parents’ divorce and not getting along with his mother pushed him towards alcohol and substance abuse to fill the void. Weston is now clean and a devoted family man.

Nicole Richie
Famous singer musician Lionel Richie’s adopted daughter, Nicole Richie, once Paris Hilton’s BFF, with whom she starred in the hit reality TV series, The Simple Life, has made headlines for both alcohol and drug abuse. Nicole started experimenting with drugs as a teenager and was charged with possession of heroin in 2003. By 18 she was heavily into partying fuelled with cocaine and was also convicted of drunk driving in 2006. She went to rehab to get sober and has been sober ever since.

Theodora Richards
Daughter of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, Theodora, a model, was arrested in 2011 for making a graffiti on a convent wall, possessing graffiti instrument and controlled substance including marijuana and Xanax pills.

Richard Hilfiger
International designer Tommy Hilfiger’s son, Richard was arrested in 2010 for possessing marijuana that authorities believed, he was trying to sell. He was arrested with a huge stash of drugs from West Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard.

Stephanie
In singer Jon Bon Jovi’s daughter Stephanie dorm room at Hamilton College, New York, police found heroin and marijuana and the youngster who had overdosed on heroin. This incident in 2012 led to the arrest of Bon Jovi’s only daughter. Following this, her famous father spoke about how he was absolutely clueless about her daughter’s drug issue and that the incident was his worst moment as a father.
